Acquainted

It’s easy to feel all alone when life doesn’t go your way;
To feel forsaken and on your own to fight your battles every day.
But the Man of Sorrows is always by your side;
And if you let Him, He will always be your guide.

CHORUS:
He is acquainted with your grief, So He knows how to give relief;
He is familiar with your cares, Because you see, He has already been there.
With a gentle hand, He will understand, And He will see you through:
He is acquainted with your grief – He is acquainted … with you.

As you struggle underneath your load, As you bear your deepest pain,
As you travel up your steepest road, Through wind and storm and rain,
The Man of Sorrows hears your every cry –
Even those that you keep locked deep inside. (REPEAT CHORUS)

For once, long ago, in a garden place,
He took on Him every sorrow, every sin.
Pressed underneath their burden, He fell on His face,
As the pain of every person swept through Him!

He is acquainted with your grief, So He knows how to give relief;
He is familiar with your cares, Because you see, He has already been there.
With a gentle hand, He will understand, And He will see you through:
He is acquainted with your grief – He is acquainted with you.
He is acquainted with your grief –
He is acquainted… With… you.
