Give Me a Heart Like His

In this busy world, in this noisy world, where there’s always too much to do,
Time just seems to fly, hours pass on by,
And there’s still so much that I’ve not gotten to.
Then I think about my Savior – all the kind, loving things He’s done;
No matter how many pressures piled on Him,
He always found time for the one.

CHORUS:
Oh, give me a heart like His – one that’s fit and ready to care;
Give me eyes that shine like His, with a willingness to reach out and share.
Help me notice those who need me – not just turn and go my way.
Oh, give me a heart like His, That I may serve Thee well today.

There are places in my private heart that I shield and protect with care,
So that no one can see, there inside of me,
The hurts and fears that I am hiding there.
Then I think about my Savior, who opened His heart’s door wide,
To extend His love freely to everyone –
To comfort, understand, and guide.
(REPEAT CHORUS)

So often my heart shrinks back in fear, or hardens in angry pain;
So often I run so fast that I can’t see
That joy never comes just from task lists done – my efforts are in vain
If I’m not feeling, then extending, heartfelt love from Thee.
Help me grow to daily do so, just like Jesus –
Like Je___ sus!___  (Keychange)

Oh, give me a heart like His – one that’s fit and ready to care;
Give me eyes that shine like His, with a willingness to reach out and share.
Help me notice those who need me – not just turn and walk away.
Oh, give me a heart like His, That I may serve Thee well today.
Give me a heart like His, That I may serve__ Thee__ well__ to__ day.__
