Liahona of Light

Long long ago, in a land far away,
A faithful father found, outside his tent one day,
A small round compass that could sit in his hand,
And lead his family to their promised land.

This Liahona of light   Pointed the way to go, and what to do;
It led them through the desert – through mortal dangers –
And got them safely through.

We have a compass, a guide of our own;
And it can point the way, and lead us safely Home.
If we remember to look and obey,
We can find direction day by day.

Our Liahona of light  Points us the way to go, and what to do;
It leads us through our deserts – our modern dangers –
And guides us safely through.

It is as easy for us to give heed
To the words of Christ, to point the way to what we need,
As for the ancients to follow the lead
Of their Liahona of light.

Feast on the words of Christ, For they will tell you all that you should do;
They’ll cut through the darkness – through grey half-truths –
And guide you safely through.

Feast on the words of Christ, For they will tell you all that you should do;
They’ll lead you through the desert – through darkness and danger –
And guide you safely through.

It’s your Liahona of light
To feast on the words of Christ.
