Servant of the Lord

Long ago, in a lonely garden far away,
He knelt to pay the awful price for me.
Trembling with pain that only He could bear,
He suffered there, Creation’s King.

Then Calvary He ascended,
With His body torn and bended,
And His life He sacrificed for me.

Behold, the servant of the Lord:
Rescued by Thy mercy, and by Thy blood restored:
Here I bow, accept me now, a servant of the Lord.

I’m amazed that He could care for me so much:
His healing touch has made me whole.
Overcome, I fall down in humility:
On bended knee, with heart and soul,

I give Him my hours, my talents, my possessions,
My life and all I’ll ever be!

Behold, the servant of the Lord:
Standing now before Thee to live by every word.
Look on me, I will be a servant of the Lord.

Once I thought – I could repay Him if I only fight
With all my might to serve Him to the end.
But I’ve found – when I reach out and try to help someone,
His blessings come and shower me again.

And so my debt increases, for His mercy never ceases:
This is love I never can repay!

Here am I, a servant of the Lord:
Let me praise Thy glory, and magnify Thy word.
Call on me, I will be a servant of the Lord.

Here am I, a servant of the Lord:
Rescued by Thy mercy, and by Thy love restored.
Call on me, I will be a servant of the Lord.
