She is my sister; She is my friend
That He told my to look after, Tenderly, till the end.
She is His daughter, That He’s entrusted to my care.
And I best serve my Father By taking time to be there!
Life can get so busy; Life can move so fast –
Sometimes the things that should be first come last.
Life can get so crazy, With all of its demands,
It can be easy to forget His entreating command:
“Feed my sheep.”
She prays for strength and guidance,
Sometimes when her life gets hard.
She pleads for rescue and for shelter,
She pours her broken heart out to the Lord.
And He, in His tender mercy,
Can send the answer, soft as rain.
Sometimes with just a whisper of His Spirit;
But sometimes she needs the form of a strengthening angel! Oh,
Life can get so busy – Life can move so fast –
Sometimes the things that should be first come last;
Life can get so crazy, With all of its demands,
It can be easy to forget His entreating command:
“Feed my sheep…. Feed my sheep.”
He knows her hunger – He feels her need –
He knows the pasture In which her hungry soul can feed.
And if I will only let Him, Then He can be my guide,
To lift her aching spirit, To walk gently by her side!
Life can get so busy – Life can move so fast –
Sometimes the things that should be first come last;
But even when life gets crazy, With all of its demands,
Don’t forget – He feeds His shepherds, as they heed His command:
“Feed my sheep…. Feed my sheep…. Feed my sheep.”
